Smoke & CO Alarms

A Smoke Alarm is a warning device that detects smoke at the earliest stages of a fire.

A CO Alarm is a warning device that detects Carbon Monoxide, a poisonous gas given off from poor combustion in gas or oil burning appliances.

If there is a fire or CO release in your home they sound a piercing alarm to warn you.

Many people killed or injured in house fires are asleep at the time or in a part of the house away from the fire.

An alarm will wake you up and give you vital extra time to escape.

Carbon Monoxide gas is invisible and has no smell, so apart from a headache or worse, you may not even know its there.

An alarm will sound a warning and allow you to take action to prevent CO emissions before you become ill.

Care & Repair (Stroud) Ltd will fit Smoke or CO Alarms that are supplied free of charge by the Gloucestershire Fire & Rescue Service. The alarms are factory fitted with a battery that is intended to last for several years.  If you are one of our clients, an alarm can be fitted alongside another job, or else you can call us on (01453) 753471 to request one.
