Could you do with some help around the house?  Would a few hours work every week from a reliable person help you to maintain your independence?

Changing the bed linen, hanging out washing, or 'vacuuming' the floor can end up being very demanding, especially as you get older, or if you are unwell or disabled.  Care & Repair (Stroud) Ltd's Helping Hands Service provides help at a cost that most people can afford.

Care & Repair (Stroud) Ltd hold two satisfactory references and a current, clear Criminal record Bureau check for all Helping Hands.  Each one will carry identification and a unique password provided by the Helping Hands Service.

The Helping Hands Service can be provided in two ways.

1.  A fully managed service for people who do not wish to handle money or make their own arrangements.  This currently costs £9.84 an hour.  Invoices are provided monthly and standing order payments can be set up.
This is particularly suitable for people who:-

  • are in receipt of Direct Payments via Adult Social Care
  • have a condition that makes it difficult to handle money or make arrangements
  • have their fees paid through another source
  • would simply like someone else (reliable) to handle things for them
2.  A 'matching' service with ongoing support to provide holiday and sickness cover, support if needs change and support if there is a problem with a Helping Hand or the arrangements.  This costs £30 per year.  Flexible payment arrangements with monthly, six monthly, or yearly options are available.  With this option the charge is £8.50 per hour paid directly to the Helping Hand.
This is suitable for people who:-
  • are happy to handle their own money
  • are happy to make their own arrangements
