Gardening Assistance Scheme

.jpg

This service is funded either by Stroud District Council or by the Royal British Legion.

.jpg  Contract Gardening – Extra help for less able people.   We subsidise self employed local gardeners to provide clients with up to 12 hours of gardening.  This year, each client will only have to pay their garden contractor £4 for an hours work.

.jpg  Royal British Legion – Anyone who has ever served in the armed forces of this country, or whose spouse served in the armed forces may be entitled to up to 12 hours of completely subsidised gardening.  People eligible for RBL assistance will not have to pay their contractor anything.

.jpg Security – All clients using Contract Gardening are sent a photograph of their nominated contract gardener for identification purposes.  To help visually impaired clients each gardener also has a unique password.

Note : – as is often the case nowadays, there may not be sufficient funding available to provide gardening assistance to every single applicant.  In this case, priority will be given according to a range of criteria such as receipt of certain benefits and the age of the client.  Also, clients who return the application form before a set date (20th Feb for 2009) will be considered before later returns.

We may be able to supply one or two gardening items such as potting compost or compost bins.  Click on the 'Items For Sale' link on the left for further details.

If you would like more information, call us on 01453 767154 between the hours of 9.00 AM and 2.00 pm.
